About.

Sarah Wohlgemuth is an apparel designer based on the unceded, traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, in what is colonially known as Vancouver, British Columbia. Her work is rooted in a deep respect for land and community, informed by years of lived experience in outdoor environments and a commitment to sustainable design practices.

With a deep rooted passion for outdoor recreation, Sarah specializes in creating functional, performance-oriented garments that prioritize ecological responsibility. Her design process is driven by material exploration, often incorporating natural, recycled, or found materials.

Sarah’s practice often intersects with broader conversations around gender, identity, and representation in the outdoors. As a woman active in sport and outdoor culture, she brings a critical lens to the ways wearable objects shape personal and collective identity. Her practice seeks to challenge conventional norms within the outdoor industry, advocating for more inclusive, equitable, and adaptive approaches to apparel that support diverse bodies, experiences, and forms of expression.

In both her studio practice and collaborative projects, Sarah strives to create apparel that is not only technically innovative and environmentally responsible but also socially conscious, engaging with the complexities of how we interact with the natural world and with each other through the garments we wear.

Sarah is currently working to complete her Bachelor’s of Design; Industrial Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, also working as a part-time Snow Apparel Design Assistant for Arc’teryx Equipment.
